Avenues Gorman Golf Classic
19 years and still going strong

Board Member Bill Gorman and his wife Vivien have done it again-hosting a fabulous day of golf and tennis, and generating more than $60,000 for Avenues' No Place Like Home residential renovation project.
(Classic hosts Bill and Vivien Gorman are joined by Avenues resident, Jenny Dziedzic)

The 19th Annual Gorman Classic, chaired by Alan Bartel, Jerry Feldman and Steve Wilson, proved once again to be one of Avenues' most successful fund raisers.

Golfers and tennis players enjoyed lunch at the Park Ridge Country Club, followed by a picture perfect day on the greens and courts. Players and guests later convened on the club's veranda for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, followed by dinner.

The evening program included a live auction, the presentation of awards and a speech by Mary Grace Powell, an Avenues resident. Mary Grace spoke about her life at Avenues and thanked all those in attendance for their participation in the Classic and for their on-going support of Avenues.

In a scene right out of the movie Caddyshack, Lorie Bartel, wife of Board Member and Classic Committee Co-Chairman Alan Bartel, befriends a critter on the course.

Tennis sponsors Norman and Barbara Anderson and Len Bunge welcomed a record number of players to the tennis event for the classic.
