A Toast to Avenues at its Wine Tasting
Chicago Board funds apartment renovation

The infamous storm of August 23, 2007, by no means dampened the spirits of those attending the third annual Spotlight on Wine event, with records proceeds of $20,000 that helped to fund the No Place Like Home residential renovation project.

(In spite of the inclement weather, more than 130 individuals battled the winds and torrential rains)

Those braving the high winds and torrential rains gathered at Lightology, a unique and contemporary lighting store in Chicago, for an evening of wine tasting and a bountiful buffet. The event was coordinated by the Avenues Chicago Partnership Board whose members set a goal of doubling last year's proceeds. Not only did the Board meet its goal, but

they exceeded it by more than $4,000. Proceeds funded all renovations in one of Avenues' apartments in the Sasser Family House. The renovations are part of the No Place Like Home initiative, a project to update and improve Avenues aging properties.
