The days above represent those days that Avenues will provide the holiday pay structure for eligible employees.

Eligible employees who are regularly scheduled to work but whose responsibilities do not require their attendance on the holiday will be entitled to holiday pay.  Not eligible would be certain part-time, temporary and other employee categories that are exempt from holiday pay benefits.

Residential staff who are scheduled and actually work on an Avenues identified holiday will receive double time pay, no other time off or compensation given.

Any staff whose regular day off falls on the holiday, will receive 8 hours of paid time off to be used within the next 6 months.  Holiday time not used does not accrue and will be lost after 6 calendar months from the holiday date .

Floating holidays are those days when eligible staff who are at work will receive regular pay and an equivalent time off to be taken within the next 6 months.  Floating holidays not used do not accrue and will be lost after 6 calendar months from the floating holiday date..
