Avenues Partnership Advisory Board

Anyone who has an interest in helping people with mental retardation and other disabling conditions is eligible to become a member of the Avenues Partnership Board.

Prospective Board Members should have skills in one of the following areas:

Banking, finance, investments, management, marketing, sales, real estate/building management, insurance, architecture, engineering, law, business leadership, ownership and other related disciplines;

Clinical practitioners including but not limited to physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, dentists, optometrists, pharmacists, social workers, educators and psychologists;

Persons with fund raising experience; legislative and governmental backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Supports Avenues through personal financial contributions, education of the public on the needs and abilities of persons with disabilities, involvement in fund raising activities and generation of other revenues.

Provides counsel to Avenues business development, finance, program, fund raising, nominations or other committee functions.

Commitment

Attends at least one of the quarterly, Advisory board lunch meetings.

Attend at least one Avenues special event (Annual Dinner, Golf/Tennis Classic, IrishFest, Love Affair, Day at the Race, Wine Event)

Educates the community and influences governmental policy through letter writing and personal contacts.

Recruits new persons for the governing and/or advisory boards.

Be responsible for or help develop contacts for financial, in-kind and other contributions.

Consider future appointment to Avenues Governing Board.
