As we approach the holiday season, we are thankful for another impactful year. This past summer, Avenues was featured on the Wintrust Mural on the Kennedy Expressway, where over 15,000,000 passers-by got a glimpse of bright, beautiful designs, inspired by life at Avenues.
Thanks to your continued and generous support, the people of Avenues live their lives with dignity, engage with a wonderful community of friends and supporters, and reside in safe and accommodating homes.
Here are just a few recent highlights. Rick takes pride in independently commuting by bus to his job at McDonald's. He is a great employee and truly enjoys his work, which gives him a real sense of dignity and empowerment. Earlier this year, Jeff was commissioned by St. Paul of the Cross Food Pantry to create a painting for the pantry's lobby. Jeff was touched to know that his joyful painting would be seen by the entire community, including volunteers and clients.
On the home front, Dan moved from Herbst House to Okazaki House, as he needed additional support. Staff members work to ensure that Dan is still able to participate in all the community activities he enjoys and begins to feel at home in his new residence. Thank you for making dreams a reality at Avenues and making Avenues the place Where Joy Happens.
We are grateful for your support as we continue to create opportunities for our clients to live the lives they choose with independence and dignity.
With gratitude,
Stephen Kray, President & CEO
P.S . Thanks to a generous donor, we have a challenge match this holiday! Every new or increased gift will be matched dollar for dollar. Please consider making a gift this holiday season, which will double your impact to Avenues, where JOY happens!
