We’re always looking for ways to enhance our programs and better serve the individuals who trust us to help them live and work with independence. That’s why Avenues is excited to share that our team has partnered with Easterseals Serving Chicagoland and Greater Rockford’s Illinois Autism Partnership (IAP), a collaboration that is helping Avenues staff build specialized skills to better support clients on the autism spectrum.
Through this partnership, Avenues staff have been receiving hands-on coaching and training from IAP’s autism specialists. These sessions focus on strengthening communication strategies, creating more supportive environments, and developing proactive approaches to meet the diverse needs of individuals we serve.
Easterseals Serving Chicagoland and Greater Rockford is an affiliate of Easterseals— a national leader in disability services. They provide dynamic programs throughout Chicagoland and the Rockford region. Their Illinois Autism Partnership works directly with schools, organizations, and service providers to promote inclusion and empower individuals with autism through education, consulting, and program development.
“Our goal is to help staff feel confident and supported when working with individuals on the spectrum,” said Rose DeCanniere, M.Ed., Manager of Autism Services for IAP. “Through collaboration and ongoing coaching, we’re seeing Avenues team members grow in their ability to implement proactive strategies that make a meaningful difference in the daily experiences of their clients.”
The partnership is part of Avenues’ continued commitment to upskill our team and enhance the quality of care across all programs. By investing in training and evidence based practices, Avenues is helping to ensure every individual, regardless of ability, can thrive in an environment built on understanding, respect, and opportunity.
Easterseals Serving Chicagoland and Greater Rockford’s commitment to, “Embracing Abilities. Expanding Possibilities,” aligns closely with Avenues’ vision of creating a community where people with disabilities can live, learn, and work with independence.
