Capable, dedicated workers with exemplary safety and attendance records
Our success has been built on matching the needs of business with the strengths and capabilities of workers with disabilities. Avenues serves a diverse group of job seekers with a wide range of skills, abilities, and experiences – from entry level to advanced, skilled workers. We network with businesses to develop partnerships that will assist these job seekers in securing employment.
Pre-Screened Employees
Our comprehensive job placement program insures our pre-screened workers meet all the requirements of each position. Each job seeker is evaluated to determine their readiness, motivation, and ability to work. All of the participants in our job placement program have completed an employment preparation training program which includes goal setting, time management, team building, communication and behavior skills. Participants who complete this training acquire the skills to succeed in their jobs and become assets to the companies that employ them.

Developmental Training at the Work Center
Learning and improving life and work skills is the central aspect of developmental training. Workers are provided with opportunities to participate in situations in which socially acceptable personal and work habits can be learned and enhanced.
Opportunities to earn an income are provided through contracts procured from various businesses and industries in the Chicago metropolitan area. We currently have more than 150 workers in this program based at our work center in Wheeling.
